How It Works
Every project begins with intention. From consultation to final fitting, our process is thoughtful, collaborative, and rooted in technical expertise — designed to ensure each garment is shaped with precision, care, and clarity.
Our Process
STEP 1
Initial Conversation
Every project begins with a brief conversation to make sure we’re a good fit. We’ll review what you need, confirm timelines, and ensure I can meet your deadline. This also helps clarify how the shop works and what to expect before scheduling a fitting. While the website answers many questions, some projects benefit from this personal check-in.
STEP 2
Fitting Appointments
Fittings are the heart of the work. Each appointment is one-on-one and focused on fit, proportion, comfort, and style. This is where careful pinning, design decisions, and refinements happen. The quality time spent during fittings — and the expertise guiding them — is a key part of the value of this service.
STEP 3
Payment & Deposits
Payment is required upfront at the time of your fitting. For larger projects, multiple garments, or custom work, a larger deposit may be required before work begins. This secures dedicated time in the schedule for your project.
STEP 4
Leaving Your Garments
Most garments need to be left with me so they can be worked on carefully and without interruption. Clients should plan to leave garments for three weeks or longer, depending on the scope of work.
Requests with a turnaround time of less than three weeks are considered Rush and may affect availability and pricing.
STEP 5
Timeline & Communication
At the end of your fitting, we will either:
-
Schedule your next fitting or pickup appointment, or
-
Set a clear completion date for your garment
I’ll be in touch if anything changes or if additional fittings are needed.
STEP 6
Pickup or Final Fitting
When your garment is ready, you’ll return for a final fitting or pickup. Additional adjustments outside the original scope of work — or due to changes in measurements — may incur additional charges.
What to Bring
1. All Garments
Please bring every garment that will be altered or evaluated during your appointment. All garments must be clean and laundered prior to your appointment. This ensures accurate fitting and protects the workspace and fabrics.
2. Accessories
Any items that influence fit or styling should be brought to your fitting. This may include belts, straps, specialty undergarments, shapewear, jackets, or other layering pieces.
3. Shoes
Bring the exact shoes you plan to wear with the garment. Heel height significantly affects length and overall proportion.
